Finding a suitable feeding bottle for your newborn baby can be a challenge, especially as a new parent. What qualities really define a good feeding bottle? We have many great options in the newborn feeding bottle section. But before we tell you more about that, we wanted to share some thoughts, advice, and tips about bottle-feeding your newborn baby.
Your decision should be respected
There are many reasons why a mother might choose to bottle-feed her newborn baby instead of breastfeeding; it can be due to both an active and an involuntary choice. Some parents wish to share the responsibility more and therefore choose to bottle-feed their baby, for others, breastfeeding doesn't work, no matter how much they want to and try, there may also be health reasons behind the decision not to breastfeed. Every life situation is unique; the most important thing is that your decision is respected, and that your, and your baby's, well-being comes first.
Listen to your baby
It can be a little overwhelming when it's time to get a feeding bottle for your newborn, but a tip is to start with a smaller feeding bottle. There's no one-size-fits-all answer for which feeding bottle is best for your baby. The only thing you can do as a parent is to listen to your baby; remember that you know your baby best, and you'll notice when they are comfortable with a particular feeding bottle.

Some tips on how to get started with bottle-feeding
- Pour a few drops of breast milk, or formula, onto the tip of the nipple so the baby understands there is food in the bottle.
- Tickle the baby's upper lip with the nipple and wait for the baby to open their mouth before giving the bottle.
- Wait until the baby is hungry.
- Make sure to feed in a calm environment without risk of disturbances.
- Feed the baby when they have just woken up, as they often accept the bottle more easily then than when they are fully awake and more easily distracted by their surroundings.
3 possible explanations for why the baby is not happy with their feeding bottle
- Wrong flow on the nipple. Does the baby have to struggle to get food? Then they probably need a nipple with a richer flow. Does the baby cough up food when bottle-feeding? Then they probably need a nipple with a slower flow. See our range of nipples here.
- Bloated stomach. Does the baby seem bothered by gas in the stomach? This can be because the nipple does not seal properly and the baby swallows air during feeding. A wider and breast-like nipple that seals the corners of the mouth reduces the risk of bloating and colic.
- The baby does not seem full. Is the baby unhappy when the bottle is empty? Then it might be time to switch to a larger feeding bottle.

The feeding bottle that really works
Our feeding bottles have a unique nipple with a double anti-colic system that significantly reduces the risk of colic. The ergonomic and breast-like shape contributes to a natural latch, and facilitates the transition from breast to bottle without confusing the baby. Our feeding bottles have high acceptance, and most babies latch on the first try.
7 reasons why you should choose Herobility's feeding bottle
1. Unique nipple with a double anti-colic system
Our ergonomic and breast-like nipple is unique on the market. The soft bumps seal the baby's mouth corners and prevent them from swallowing air. The air vents prevent vacuum from building up in the bottle, resulting in an even flow. The nipple has high acceptance and usually works on the first try.
2. Smooth and easy cleaning
Our feeding bottle has a wide opening which makes it super easy to clean because you can easily reach with a bottle brush.
3. Easy to fill the bottle
Thanks to the wide opening, the risk of spillage is reduced, for example when dispensing formula powder into the bottle.
4. Safe for your baby
We do not compromise on the materials in our products. All of Herobility's feeding bottles are therefore free from BPA and other harmful substances.
5. Lump-free mixing
Our smart mixer net ensures that formula and gruel are easily mixed without lumps forming. All feeding bottles also have a leak-proof lid.
6. Developed in Sweden
Our feeding bottles, and other products, are developed in Sweden by experienced product developers and designers. Our feeding bottles are quality assured and comply with European standards.
7. Something for everyone
We have a wide range of feeding bottles, both in terms of design and size.

If possible, we recommend breastfeeding (or providing breast milk from a bottle), especially during the first 6 months of a baby's life. It is, of course, beneficial if breast milk is part of your child's diet for a year or longer. Breast milk contains all the nutrients your child needs during the first 6 months, except vitamin D (which is why babies receive vitamin D supplements in the form of drops).
