Dish soap baby bottle – how to best keep your baby bottle clean

diskmedel nappflaska

Using dish soap to clean your baby's feeding bottle is very effective. However, it is important to choose a gentle dish soap that is kind to both children and nature, as well as one specifically developed for baby products.

With Herobility's Dish Soap you can be sure that your child's products are thoroughly cleaned. It is specially developed for baby products and is very effective against milk proteins, fat, fruit pulp and food residues. It is also an environmentally friendly dish soap, both in terms of its natural ingredients and its packaging, which is made from 95% recycled material. Our dish soap is also recommended by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association.

Important steps when cleaning a feeding bottle

  • Hygiene is paramount when handling feeding bottles and other baby products. Therefore, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap, then dry with a clean towel.
  • A bottle brush is preferable when cleaning feeding bottles. Avoid using the regular dish brush that you use for other dishes, as bacteria can easily accumulate in the brush.
  • Make sure all parts of the feeding bottle are thoroughly cleaned and ensure no milk residue remains.
  • Then rinse all parts in warm water and air dry on a clean drying rack; this reduces the risk of bacterial growth.

We recommend hand-washing our feeding bottles. If you prefer to wash them in a machine, that is also fine, but you should follow these guidelines:

  • Wash the bottle in the upper rack
  • Max 55°
  • Do not wash with food residues containing olive oil, tomato sauce, or other strongly pigmented foods, as this can discolour the plastic and prematurely wear out the measurement markings.

We advise against boiling the feeding bottle intensely as this can wear out the material and negatively affect the fit. All of Herobility's feeding bottles have been sterilised during manufacturing. If you still want to sterilise the feeding bottle, we recommend boiling plenty of water in a saucepan, turning off the heat, and then placing all parts in the hot water for 30 seconds. Then pour out the water and let the parts cool.

Sterilising the teat

Before first use, it is usually recommended to sterilise the teat. You can do this most easily by filling a saucepan with cold water, placing the teat in it, and letting it lie in the boiling water for at least 5 minutes. Carefully pour out the water and let the teat cool before drying it on a drying rack.
